June 2011 Newsletter - Subject of the Month

“Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?” [John 9:1-10]
“For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.” [Psalm 18:28]
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” [Acts 26:18]
“You know, I think blindness is one of the cruelest things that we can think of, a person who cannot see the daylight. And if we can think of the natural blindness, how great that is, how much greater is the spiritual blindness to those who have good eyes and cannot see the promises of God. And as he was fumbling his way, finally, over in the sunlight, the sun perhaps had not rose high enough yet to give the sun out far from the wall. He finds him a rock and sits down.” [Blind Bartimaeus, LA CA, 59-0408]
“Oh," you say, "I got good sight, Brother Branham." You may physically have very good eyes and spiritually completely blind. That's right. Now, you don't see with your eyes anyhow. Jesus said unto Nicodemus, the great ruler, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be borned again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." The word "see" by the right translation, is "understand." You see something before you, you say, "I just can't see it." You mean you can't understand it. Jesus said, "Come, and buy from Me, some eye salve, that I might put on your eyes, and your eyes might be opened, and you could see. For you're blind, and you're naked, and you're miserable and wretched, and poor." The churches has got the biggest buildings they've ever had, the best polished scholars, I guess, that's walked into the pulpit, they have it now. But yet, the church is weaker as it ever was; it's growing weaker all the time.” [The Door Of The Door, Newark NJ, 57-1212]
“What a blessed promise. Faith in God, it's a staggering thing to many people. And yet we ought to be ashamed of ourselves to confess that we don't have faith in God. First, there is cowards who die ten thousand deaths while they're here on earth, and a hero never dies. His memories linger on for his great heroic deeds. And usually people who have faith are people who have experience. Experience brings faith. I think that's the reason that the Bible teaches us--Jesus said in Saint John the 3rd chapter, "Except a man be borned again he cannot understand the Kingdom of God." Now, that's quoting from the original. In the--the King James it said, "He cannot see." But the word doesn't mean "see, like you look with your eyes"; it means to understand. You can't see the Kingdom anyhow. You must understand it. And Jesus said, "Except a man be borned again first, he will--cannot understand the Kingdom of God." So it's--it behooves us to have an experience before faith can ever accomplish very much. Therefore people ought to be saved before... First they come to God and have an experience of salvation before they approach God for their healing. It must... It'll--it'll work wonders if you can only believe it.” [Faith, Jeff IN, 57-1229]
“And so, the first thing you know, when He picked up the bread... He took the bread. Now, their eyes were blinded. And He broke the bread. When He lifted up His eyes, and blessed it and brake it, and their eyes were opened. I like that. Their eyes were opened. If there ever was a time that the church of Christ needs its eyes opened, is today; some more breaking bread. Their eyes were opened and they recognized that it was Him. Oh, friend, has He ever opened your eyes that way? Has He ever blessed you in such a way? Has He ever broke you apart from the things of the world, separated you, a breaking and an opening time? That's what the church needs today, is a breaking and an opening time. And his eyes were opened, their eyes were opened, rather, and they recognized Him. Just the way He done that bread, that's the way they recognized Him.” [Go Tell My Disciples, Jeff IN, 53-0405]
“Our Jesus can come right into the midst of the people and perform those very same acts, and what happens? The people will go away and say it's mental telepathy. "Oh, he might be a spiritualist or a fortuneteller, something that's happened in that manner." Oh, if God would open our eyes and let us see what these things are. That door to the eye is in the heart. It ain't what you see with your eye. That isn't seeing; that's looking. Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Except a man be borned again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." You don't see it with your eyes; you see it with your understanding. You look with your eyes and understand with your heart. So the door of your eyes is in your heart, because it's a door of understanding. "Oh, I understand that Jesus said He would do that in the last day. I understand that these things are the sign of God." Then how different. How it becomes a reality to you. How things change if our eyes are open. He's with you all the time. He helps you. He's standing at your door daily, but you don't recognize it.” [I Stand At The Door And Knock, JEFF IN, 57-1208]
“A Christian does not calculate, or does not look at things he sees. You don't see with your eyes anyhow. You don't. Certainly you don't see with your eyes. You look with your eyes. You see with your heart. "See" doesn't mean "look." "See" means "understand." Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Except the man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God." See what the right translation that is, "cannot understand the Kingdom of God." Somebody be doing something, showing you. "I just can't see it." You're looking at it, but you don't understand it. And you'll never know what the Kingdom of God is until you're born again, then you'll understand what It is. You'll know what makes people happy, what makes them stand right out in the midst of difficulty, and say, "It's so," never move. They understand. God said so. Now, I--I told you the other night. You got to have faith, but you've got to know how to use that faith to make yourself well, to get happiness out of life. If you're born again, everything you got need of is right in you when you're born again, because the Holy Spirit comes there, and that's all you have need of. It's the Holy Spirit; It produces the rest. Now, notice Abraham, our Christians, rather, Abraham's seed. No matter what anybody else says, they believe it anyhow.” [The Calling Of Abraham, San Fernando CA, 55-1116]
“It was down at Dothan one time, when a young fellow, a--a prophet's servant... And he went down with him to Dothan. And while the prophet slept, the great Syrian army come and encompassed--encamped about the great walls of Dothan. And when he woke up the next morning, he had never had an experience. He said to--as he seen the great army looking for Elijah; he said, "Oh, my father, the whole armies have gathered and surrounded here. They're looking for you." It didn't shake that old prophet one bit. It might've been cancer; it might've tuberculosis; it might have been a stroke, but it didn't shake that prophet. He looked at him and he said, "Son, there is more with us then there is with them." He said, "I can only see you and I." He said, "Open his eyes, God, that he can see. Give him an experience." And when his eyes opened he looked, and the whole mountains was full of chariots and fire and horses of fire, around that old sainted prophet. He had an experience; there was no more doubt in his mind then.” [Faith, Jeff IN, 57-1229]
“How many feels just all ready to go? Oh, isn't that wonderful? If the trumpet shall sound, what difference does it make? We'd drop a cross and receive a crown. We can't fail. God's already accepted us. He's sent His Spirit. His Spirit is here with us, doing, performing, acting, just exactly what He said would take place. Aren't you glad that God called you? Then you can feel sorry for those; don't condemn them, but feel sorry for those whose eyes are closed and can't see it. They cannot see it unless God knew they would see it before the foundation of the world. "For all He foreknew, He called: those who He called, He justified: those who He justified, He hath glorified," already. It's written in His Books. Christ come to redeem those who God by foreknowledge knew that would receive Him. Amen. If that isn't a wonderful thing.”[Escape Hither Come Quickly, Waterloo IA, 58-0202]
“Long hair is a--a Nazarite vow. It showed that you've cut yourself from the world, to obey the Word. Amen. Samson let his hair grow out, for a Nazarite vow. Now we realizing these things. And women dressing and acting and doing, and man permitting them to do it, big bunch of sissies! It seems like there is not even man any more. You see man wearing pink shoes, and--and preachers on the pulpit, something like that. That's a disgrace. I like to see man again that's absolutely man. Looks like there's a power that drives them to do it, it's the devil and the pressure of this day. That's right. Sometime a man weighing two hundred pounds, and muscles like that, and not an ounce of man in him; acts like some big sissy out here. I like, let man be man. Let women be feminish, let them be ladies. When the Token is applied, they turn back to that. God made them different, and they are different. Man wants to look like women; women wants to look like man. It goes to show there is a perversion, a dark spirit hanging over, gross darkness over the people. It's the hour of the calling out. There's a darkness over Egypt, before the calling out, then the token was applied. It's time for the church to get the Token, or a gross darkness is upon the people. Gross darkness!” [The Token, Bakf CA, 64-0208]
How did those clergymen fail to see It? How did they fail? How did those Pharisees and Sadducees fail to see? He said, "Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life, and They are They that testify of Me." How did they fail to see It, brethren? It's because it had been prophesied that they would do it. And so is it today, that gross darkness is coming upon the people, and here we are! God has lotted His Word to be manifested this day, and it's the only Light we have, and God is going to let somebody manifest that Word. Somebody is going to do it. He promised it, and He works just exactly like He always did by it. He has never changed His pattern of work. He prophesies what will happen, then He sends somebody down and vindicates that. And it goes over the head of millions, because, darkness covers the earth at that time. And people love darkness better than they do Light, 'cause darkness has a lot of pleasure. I seen a Hollywood play, not long ago, said, "Life begins after the sun goes down." That's when death begins; all these night clubs, and where they think they're living. They're dying.” [Shalom, Phoenix AZ, 64-0119]
“ He said gross darkness would be upon the people, but there would be Light, "Rise, and shine, for the Light has come." How can there be darkness and Light, it's got to be separated. And only one thing separates it, the Word manifested, separates, It presses it to the other side of the... Here's the darkness on the earth, but when the manifested Word of God, the sun, which it was spoken into existence by the Word, shows itself, darkness runs to the other side. And that's what's taking place now, darkness separating itself from the Light. What is Light? The vindicated, spoken Word of God! Outside of that, there's no Light. See? You can't lighten the earth with flashlights. It takes God's Word that's made manifest, the Son.” [Shalom, SIERRA VISTA AZ, 64-0112]
Why don't you come to Christ, be filled with the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His resurrecting Power that can set you free, and make you a candle that sets on the hill? No matter how dark it gets. Say, "Well, why should we do it? The rest of them..." Listen, right now is the time to let it shine, when it's the darkest. That's when Light shines better, is when It's in darkness. We must always let the Light shine where it's dark. Prophet saying, "Gross darkness would be upon this people," and it certainly is the Truth. Now we find out what made the moon reflecting the light.”[Shalom, Phoenix AZ, 64-0119]
Our Bible Study Subject for June 2011: How Were Thine Eyes Opened?
I pray that God will let you see and understand the Light of the day - the vindicated, spoken Word of God and be filled with the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His resurrecting Power that can set you free and make you a candle that sits on the hill.
