“And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.” [Deuteronomy 8:2]
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” [I Peter 1:7]
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:” [I Peter 4:12]
“How God loves to test His people. Every child that comes to God must be tested, child trained; no exceptions, everyone. And maybe tonight, that you're sick, just to have a little child training, just a little testing. Don't be discouraged. God's on the throne. He knows all things. If were truly borned of the Spirit of God, everything's working together for our good. He's going to make everything right. He promised He would. He swore He would. And He's got to keep that Word. He's kept it now for oh, thousands of years to every believer. Would you be any exception? No, sir. We're no exception.” [Jehovah Jireh, Phoenix AZ, 57-0309e]
“You know, He loves to test us. He loves to see the reaction of your faith. Did you know that? God likes to see how you'll react. When you say, "Oh, Lord, I believe You; Thou art my Saviour. I believe that You are the Healer; I believe that You are the One Who gives the Holy Spirit; and the things that I am requiring, You are the God Who gives that." And then when you confess all your sins and promise God what you'll do if He'll let you get well, and then because it don't happen, you run off like a coward somewhere, God can't use that. There's no way for Him to use you. There's no way for Him to answer you, because He only answers by faith. Then all of a sudden you go away and He can't answer. But real true faith stands there, being sure that God is. Be certain that He is. And if God asks this thing to be done, to confess your sins and so forth, and you've done it, faith says that He is; it's certain that it's going to happen. Your request has to be granted. Oh, I--I hope you don't miss that. If you're sure of God, God's sure of His Word. He's only waiting to test you.” [Be Certain Of God, JEFF IN, 59-0125]
“He proves all of His Words, all of His Words. Just think of it, all of His Words. And you were His Word. He was the Word, and you were part of His Word. And that's the reason you're sent here to confirm your place in life. I--I--I don't think you got that. See? He is the Word. Now, you get it? He was in the feet in Luther; in the thighs in Wesley; in the shoulders in Pentecost. See what I mean? He is the Head. You have a part that joins that together, this hour that we're living now: not the feet part, not the thigh part, not the shoulder part, but the neck part. Is that right? It joins to the head. That's the part of the body. Those that are asleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. The trumpet of God shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Is that right? See, you become a part of that Word; you become a part of Him. And you take His Name to recognize it (See?) you're placed in there, baptized into His Name into His Body, "By one Spirit we're all baptized in one Body," into here, just exactly like the same position. He never changes His way. How many believes the early church is in Him? See? You are in Him and a part of Him, because you were a part of the thinking of Him. Before the foundation of the world, He called you.” [Proving His Word, JEFF IN, 64-0816]
“Now we see the attribute, sons of His Spirit, have not yet entered into the Word-form body. But, a theophany; this body is subject to the Word and earnest, waiting for the earnest, change of the body. Now, the different between Him and you, as a son. See, He was, at the beginning, the Word, an en morphe body. He came in and lived in that, in the Person of Melchisedec. Then, later, we never heard no more of Melchisedec, because He became Jesus Christ. Melchisedec was the Priest, but He became Jesus Christ. Now, you by-passed that. Because, in that form, He knowed all things, and you have never been able to know that yet. You come like Adam, like me, you became from the attribute to the flesh, to be tempted. But when this life is finished here, "If this earthly tabernacle be dissolved, we have one already waiting." That's where we go; that is the Word. Then we can look back and see what we done. Now we don't understand it. We have never become the Word; we've just become the flesh-man, not the Word. But, and look, clearly makes it clear, you will never be the Word unless you was a thought at the beginning. That proves the predestination of God. See? You can't be the Word unless you're a thought. You had to be in the thinking, first. But, you see, in order to stand temptation, you had to by-pass the theophany. You had to come down here in flesh, to be tempted by sin. And then, if you stand, "All the Father hath given Me will come to Me, and I'll raise him up at the last days." See, you had to be first.” [Who Is This Melchisedec, JEFF IN, 65-0221E]
“Our Jesus can come right into the midst of the people and perform those very same acts, and what happens? The people will go away and say it's mental telepathy. "Oh, he might be a spiritualist or a fortuneteller, something that's happened in that manner." Oh, if God would open our eyes and let us see what these things are. That door to the eye is in the heart. It ain't what you see with your eye. That isn't seeing; that's looking. Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Except a man be borned again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." You don't see it with your eyes; you see it with your understanding. You look with your eyes and understand with your heart. So the door of your eyes is in your heart, because it's a door of understanding. "Oh, I understand that Jesus said He would do that in the last day. I understand that these things are the sign of God." Then how different. How it becomes a reality to you. How things change if our eyes are open. He's with you all the time. He helps you. He's standing at your door daily, but you don't recognize it.” [I Stand At The Door And Knock, JEFF IN, 57-1208]
“Before the foundation of the world, his name is put on the Lamb's Book of Life. Then, from that, He become the Word, the theophany, that could appear, disappear. And then He become flesh and returned back again, resurrected that same body in a glorified condition. But you by-passed the theophany and become flesh-man, to be tempted by sin. And then, "If this earthly tabernacle is dissolved, we have one already waiting." We have not yet the bodies. But, look! When this body receives the Spirit of God, the immortal Life inside of you, it throws this body in subjection to God. Hallelujah! "He that's born of God doth not commit sin; he cannot sin." Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus; they walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." There you are. See, that throws your body subject. You don't have to say, "Oh, if I could just quit drinking! If I could just..." Just get in Christ, and it's all gone, see, see, because your body is subject to the Spirit. It's no more subject to the things of the world; they're dead. They are dead; your sins are buried in baptism, and you are a new creation in Christ. And your body, becoming subject to the Spirit, try to live a right kind of life. [Who Is This Melchisedec, JEFF IN, 65-0221E]
“Then, when a man is born again, from Heaven, he becomes a spirit babe in Christ. And, then, when this robe of flesh is dropped, there is a natural body, theophany, a body not made with hands, neither born of a woman, that we go to. Then that body returns back and picks up the glorified body. That's the reason Jesus went to hell when He died, and preached to the souls that were in prison; turned back into that theophany. Oh, marvelous! Thank God! Second Corinthians 5:1, "If this earthly body be dissolved, this earthly tabernacle, we have another one." See, we have by-passed that, to come straight from God, the attribute; to be flesh, to be tempted and tested by sin, like Adam did. But when testing of His Word is over, then we are taken up to this body that was prepared for us before the foundation of the world. It is the Word there that we skipped, to come right around, down here to be tempted and tested. If we'd have come through that, there'd have been no temptation; we'd a-knowed all things. That's the reason Jesus knowed all things, 'cause He was Word before He was flesh. Then we become the Word. Here we are formed to the Word image, to be a partaker of the Word, feed on the Word, by being predestinated since the beginning; you see that little spark of Life that you had in you from the beginning, when you started your journey. Many of you can remember it. You joined this church and joined that church, you'd try this and that; nothing satisfied. That's right. But one day you just recognized It. Right. [Who Is This Melchisedec, JEFF IN, 65-0221E]
“Jesus, when He entered the city, the children and all of them, the--all of His friends, crying, "Hosanna! Him that cometh in the Name of the Lord!" And those religionists of that day couldn't stand it; it was too emotional. He said, "If they hold their peace, the rocks will immediately cry out." See? Something must cry out, because life was there. Noah had a terrible time, but finally one day he had a trial. And all that go with God has trials; your faith is tried. When you start to live for Him, then every neighbor's going to talk about you; everything's going to go wrong for you. Just remember that; for it's God trying you. The Bible said, "Every son that cometh to God must be first proven, chastened, child-trained." Like my daddy trained me when I done wrong, they had--they had the--the ten commandments hanging up over the door; it was a limb about this long; and Mr. Branham was a pretty good man in his arm, and he took us out and he trained us. And that's the way God does. He tries, child-trains you, brings you up, because you're His child; there's something in the future for you, home in glory. And He trains you. Now, every son coming must be tried.” [End Time Evangelism, JEFF IN, 62-0603]
“This poor, little woman, she knew that He was God. As that barrel went down, down, down, down, circumstances got worse and worse all the time. But God was letting it get that way. He just loves to do that. He loves to put your faith to a test to see how you act on it, let you be anointed and prayed for, then make you worse, say, "Come on, Satan, put him to the test; I know he believes Me." Bless God forever. Oh, my. "Put him to a test now; I know he took My Word for it." Could He say that about you? He said that about Job, said, "Do anything to him you want to, but don't you take his life, for I know he loves Me. He's made the burnt offering; he's made the requirements; he did what I told him to do, and he believes it. Now, roll him over the coals if you want to." He took everything away from him; God doubled it when He give it back to him. Sure He will.” [Be Certain Of God, JEFF IN, 59-0125]
“Now, God doesn't tempt men, but God tries men, tests them. God cannot tempt you, but God can test you. And every son that cometh to God must be tested or child-trained before he can be a son. And if we can't stand chastisement, the Bible said we become illegitimate children and not the children of God, 'cause a child of God is borned of God, and he will stand the test anywhere, any time, on any condition (That's right.), a child that's borned of God. He that's borned of God, does not commit sin. Notice. Now, Job was going through a testing time. And Satan had told God, "I'll make him curse you to your face." See that old accuser? God said, "You just can't do it." I like that. God had confidence in Job. And notice, Satan came to him, and he done everything but take his life. And when all the troubles had happened to Job... I like to see him when that great hour of testing, when his members of his church came and accused him of a secret sinner. He knowed he was standing firm on God's provided sacrifice, a burnt offering; and he knowed God required that so he stood firm. Oh, I like to see him when he was setting on the ash heap, scraping his boils, his children gone, and all of his riches gone. And there he was setting scraping his boils. And his wife even said, "Job, why don't you curse God and die?" “[God In His Word, Oakland CA, 57-0323]
“In the days of Daniel's time, there was four overcomers that could stand the test of fire and lion. Now, we're expected to be tested. That's a good lesson for my--my brother back there, also. "He that cometh to God must first be tested." Tested (what?) with the Word. That's God's test. Do you believe it? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] "He that cometh to God must be tested." That only shows a true child, then, see, be tested, and when the test comes on. You can't overcome 'less there's a test give to you. And when test is given, it's to see whether you can overcome or not. And Jesus said, "To him that overcometh," the test. The test is the greatest thing that ever happened to you. I believe it's written in the Scripture, Peter said, that, "Our trials are worth more to us than precious gold." It's a testing time. It's one good evidence to us that God is with us, when we're tested, for all children of God are tested and tried.” [How Can I Overcome, JEFF IN, 63-0825M]
“Notice, as they went now, two of them, Cleopas and his friend was on their road to Emmaus. And it was Sunday morning. So they was on their road over there, talking. They was going along the road, real sad. My, they were really let down with something, looked like a veil. And God let's things happen like that. He does that, purposely, just to--just to test you. Now let me get this before you, straight, so that you'll understand that every son that comes to God has got to be child-trained. He's got to be tested; every son. If you're never tested, you're not a son. If you can't stand the chastisement of God, then you're illegitimate, and not a child of God. You claim God is your Father, you say, "Oh, I can't believe." Well, that just shows that God is not your Father; see, you would--you would get It. Now notice, this testing, God tests every one of His children. All that come to Him must first be tested, tried, proved.” [And When Their Eyes Were Opened They Knew Him, Tampa FL, 64-0416]
“God has counted you worthy when you have a test. Now, don't fail this, to get this. When you have a trial or a test, it shows the grace of God has found, you found favor with God, and God believes that you'll stand the test. You remember, He did the same thing by Job. Satan said, "Oh, yes, I seen Job down there." Said, "He's not..." God said, "He's a perfect servant. There's none in earth like him. There's nobody like Job. He's a perfect man. Now, he, he's My--he's My pride and joy." Satan said, "Oh, sure. He gets everything he asks for." Said, "Let me have him once." And said, "I, I'll make him curse You to Your very face." Said, "I'll just make him curse You." God said, "He's in your hands, but don't you take his life." See? God had confidence in Job. Amen.” [Victory Day, Sierra Vista AZ, 63-0421]
