“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” [Proverbs 28:13]
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” [I John 1:9]
“Now, what happened? Sin came in. And as soon as sin come in, what happened? It spoiled God's picture. What a horrible thing it was. Then I want you to notice. Adam to show the strain of man, as soon as Adam realized that he had sinned, instead of coming out and confessing it, you know what he done? He run and hid. And that's the way man does today. That's the way individual's do today. They run and hide from God instead of coming, confessing their sins. That's what men ought to do everywhere now, is come and confess their sins instead of trying to hide it. Don't you believe it? But what is it? A strain. They still do it. Notice. Then God going through the garden of Eden hollering, "Adam, Adam, where art thou..." What took place? Adam hid. Although he had made himself an apron that he'd put on to stand before God, it wouldn't work when he stood before God. Now, God in order to get Adam back to Himself again so He could talk to him, God went out and got some skins and made aprons. Is that right? Now, if He got skin, something died to get skin. See, it had to be substitutionary. Something had to substitute the guilty man's place. And that was that lamb that He killed out there was Christ Jesus, speaking in a figure. And there He brought the lamb skins, throwed them back into the bushes, and Adam and Eve put them on. Here they come out to stand before Father God.” [Law, Chicago IL, 55-0115]
“Oh, you cannot be clean from your sin until you confessed it's sin, till you recognize it's sin. Then come the cleansing, as soon as he said, "Woe is me, for my eyes have seen the vindication of a great God. The Angels, the Burners, the Sacrificers are here, and the posts is moving at Their Voice, and here They are in this vision, flying back and forth." He had saw something real. A vision had come down. He said, "I'm a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among unclean people." Said, he cried out for mercy and called himself a sinner. Then what happened? One of the Cherubims went over to the altar, and took the tongs and picked up a live coal, and put it on His hand. Not carry it in a tong now; picked up the coal, put it on His hand, and come and laid it upon the prophet's lips, and said, "Thy iniquity..." Iniquity, what is iniquity? Iniquity is something that you know it's wrong, and still holding to it. When you know your creeds are wrong, and you still hold to it, that's iniquity”. [Influence, Beaumont TX, 64-0315]
“The devil's just got such a hold on the church until it's just wallowing in the muck of the world. Don't do that. Your own life proves that you haven't got what you're saying you got. Then why not confess it? "He that will confess his sin shall have pardon: he that hides his sin shall not prosper." You can't hide it. God knows all about it. And if you see and know that you're not living right, then why not confess it, and come out, and let it be clear? Some people's sins go before them; some follow. Let mine go before. Let me tell all of mine right now. Let God get it right. That's what we ought to do.” [The Marriage Of The Lamb, Phoenix AZ, 62-0121E]
“And you're bound to be backsliding constantly, so it takes a constant prayer to God. Paul said, "I die daily." And if Paul had to die daily, how much more am I going--I'm going to have to stay there dead all the time, if--if Paul had to die daily to stay right with God. And so, we'll all have to do that, just die out to ourself. And that's getting God's way. Now, there's only two ways of anything: That's the right way and the wrong way. And them ways are your ways and God's way. And you can't be in your way and God's way at the same time. You've got to forget your own way to get in God's way. And you got to get out of your own way to get in God's way. For as long as you're in your own way, you're out of His way. So forsake your way, forsake your thoughts, forsake everything, and just rely one thing, on THUS SAITH THE LORD. That's all. Then you know you're right.” [God's Provided Way, West Palm Beach FL, 53-1201]
“Now, a righteous man is not a sinless man. For you notice he said, "Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are." He had his ups-and-downs and his differences. And the Scripture of his life proves that he had his ups-and-downs like we do. And he had his times of wondering and his times that his temper got away from him, and he had a lot of things, that went wrong. But he was still a righteous man, because he confessed his unworthiness and believed in God. So that's what made him righteous. We're not righteous within ourselves; we're righteous through Jesus Christ. I cannot be sanctified within myself; I am sanctified through Jesus Christ Who stands in the--in the Presence of God in my place. It isn't my holiness; it's His holiness. My holiness won't work at all, but His does. Because God done accepted Him. And in accepting Him He had to accept me, because I'm in Him. Amen. That's what makes it real isn't it. Then we don't have to depend on ourself. Now, that doesn't make us say we can sin. Brother, if you sin, you're just--you're just away from God. That's all. There's only one thing to do, is confess it and get right with God. As long as you desire to sin, the desire of sin's still in your heart, then it's time to stay down at the altar till that thing's taken out. Now you will sin. You're bound to sin 'cause you just can't help it, but not willful sin. "He that sins willfully after he receive the knowledge of the truth (See?), there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin." But every day you're bound to sin.” [God's Provided Way, West Palm Beach FL, 53-1201]
“"He that will confess his sins shall have forgiveness." We have confessed our sins, and we have forgiveness. Our sins are in the Sea of Forgetfulness. We can no more be accused of sin. We have confessed it. We made things right. And now the great chasm, that was between us and God, has been taken away. God put the sin in the Sea of Forgetfulness. He could never even remember us anymore as sinners. We are no longer sinners. We are sons and daughters, and now we're here for deliverance for the flesh. And because we are believers, the Word said, the Word, the Word that Christ left us, said, "These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." And this we are doing, by faith we are doing it, in the Name of Jesus Christ.” [There Is Only One Way Provided By God For Anything, Chicago IL, 63-0731]
“Well, you just lay your hands by faith upon Him, say, "Lord, I believe it," up you come. That's right. Confess your sins. See, "He that hides his sins will not prosper, covers his sins. But he that will confess his sins," there's where you get freedom and justification, when you're willing to say "I'm sinned, I'm wrong." That's what you said here: "I have fallen; I am sinned. I'm dead wrong. Is there a chance for me to be whole again?" Absolutely. The minute that you desire it, that shows that God dropped the Lifeline down to pick you up. Just rise up on His Lifeline of faith and prayer; move right on up into the rest of the eagles like that; go flopping away. That's right.” [Questions And Answers, Jeffersonville IN, 62-0527]
“"He that will confess his sins shall have pardon. He that hides his sin shall not prosper." And we confess our wrongs. I confess the wrongs of the people. I confess my own wrongs. I ask for mercy. I ask for healing. I ask for grace. I ask that You'll pour out the Holy Ghost, Lord, right now upon these waiting people, that their lives will be changed in the molding block of God, and will be shaped in the image of the Son of God, that the Spirit that quickened Him, that will come into their body and make them sons and daughters of God. Grant it, Lord. We believe that You'll honor Your Word. We believe You'll honor the efforts of the Word. Now send these blessings upon these people as they're waiting for Your Presence to visit them here at the altar. In Jesus' Name.” [The Evening Messenger, Mesa AZ, 63-0116]
