“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:14]
|
“God's calling individuals. "I stand at the door and knock. If any man, any person..." One individual out of a thousand, it might be one out of a million. When Israel come up out of Egypt, there were just two million people come, and just two million; just one... just two people went in. One out of a million. Did you know that? Caleb and Joshua.” [Leadership, COVINA CA, 65-1207]

“But while they were thinking on Him, He appeared to them, and that's the way He usually comes to us. If we would let the thoughts of our heart, and the meditations of my mind be upon Him, He would appear often to us. But the trouble, we're thinking about where we're going to make the next dollar, and what we're going to do here, and how this is going to be. Jesus said, "All these things will be taken care of, but seek ye first the Kingdom of God." [The Mighty Conqueror, JEFF IN, 56-0401M]

"That door to the eye is in the heart. It ain't what you see with your eye. That isn't seeing; that's looking. Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Except a man be borned again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." You don't see it with your eyes; you see it with your understanding. You look with your eyes and understand with your heart. So the door of your eyes is in your heart, because it's a door of understanding. "Oh, I understand that Jesus said He would do that in the last day. I understand that these things are the sign of God." Then how different. How it becomes a reality to you. How things change if our eyes are open. He's with you all the time. He helps you. He's standing at your door daily, but you don't recognize it." [I Stand At The Door and Knock, JEFF IN, 57-1208]

"He's got to have access to every room in the house, every compartment. All the little secret things of life, He's got to have access to every bit of it. Then He becomes Lord. What does He want to come in your heart for? Is to be your Lord. He's knocking at the door to be your Saviour. And if you hold selfishness, and pride, and malice, and all these things in your heart, He can't be Lord, though you accept Him in, He can't be Lord. When He's Lord, He's Lord over all. And that's what He's knocking for. Let Him in. "I want to come in and sup." What supping is, is fellowship, when you got fellowship one with another. How that the--the Lord and you are buddies. You're partners. And whatever you have, He has too. Whatever He has then, you have too. You see, He becomes you, that you might become Him. [I Stand At The Door And Knock, JEFF IN, 57-1208]

“So many professed Christians don't want to open that door of faith. How's the Lord ever going to bless you then? How can He be your Lord and Healer if He can't get your heart's door of faith open? If He can come in and you'll welcome Him, He will open that door, and He will walk into that faith of yours, and He will sup with you in the door of faith. Oh, I want to welcome Him this morning to my heart, to every room. The all that I am, I want to welcome Him at every door, swing it open, and stand there and kiss the cup of blessings with Him in the door, and say, "Yes, Lord, all I am, and all I have, and all is Yours. Let's stand at this door, Lord, and commune with each other. Let's have communion at the door of faith, Lord. Let's have communion at the door of pride, Lord. Let's have communion at the door of selfishness, Lord. Take it all from me, Lord." [I Stand At The Door And Knock, JEFF IN, 57-1208]

“And then there's another little door. It's called the door to selfishness. Oh, how we like to guard that little door with a padlock. "I'll go down if there's anything in it for me, or if it's for me and my church, or for me and my denomination. I'll be willing to go if I get anything out of it." That's selfish. You ought to open that door and let Jesus come in. Oh, it's an important door. Now, I don't mean to be rude, but I only mean to be honest. And then there's a little door that's found in the heart of both men and women; it's a little door of pride. And in that you'll say, "Come in, Lord. I'll join your church, and I'll--I'll pay my tithings. I'll help by the widow some coal, buy the orphan some food or some clothes. But I just don't want to surrender my pride. I think I'm just a little bit better than so-and-so." Jesus can't be Ruler then of your being.” [The Door To The Heart, CHICAGO IL, 58-0112E] |
"Though I stand at the heart and knock, if any man would hear My voice and open, I'll come in." Will you let Him in? Open and make Him your Lord over your entire being. "Take my selfishness, Lord; be Lord there. Take my indifference; be Lord there. Take my jealousy; be Lord there. Take my pride; be Lord there. Take my faith; be Lord there. Take my eyes; be Lord there. Take my hands; be Lord there. Take my ears; be Lord there. Take my feet; be Lord there. Be the Lord of my being, of my soul, body, and spirit. Lead me and guide me, oh, Lord, and open my eyes that I might see." That be our prayer, while we wait on Him just a moment, with our heads bowed.” [The Door Of The Door, NEWARK NJ, 57-1212] |
